Comfort circuit to the huayhuash mountain range
Day 01. Start of the circuit in Huaraz
FRANPISCO ADVENTURE staff will be waiting for you at the Jorge Chávez airport. Then we transfer you to the public bus terminal to travel to the city of Huaraz; the journey takes about 8 hours. Once we arrive in Huaraz, we transfer you to the hotel. There is also the possibility of traveling by plane from Lima to Anta - Huaraz. Flight times every day of the week: Lima to Anta - Huaraz 7:30 am, Anta to Lima at 9:15 am. On Tuesdays and Thursdays: Lima to Anta 11:15 am and Anta to Lima 1:14 pm.
Adventure in the Huayhuash mountain range
Day 02. Acclimation in the Andes Peru - Cordillera Blanca
Departure from Huaraz at 8:00 am for the Parón Lake tour at 4,250 m, heading north guided by an official tour guide and tourist transport. During the tour, we visit the province of Carhuaz, known as the city of ice cream, Yungay (Campo Santo), and Caraz Dulzura, known for the production of manjar blanco, then head to Parón Lake. We stay here for about 3 to 4 hours to take advantage of climbing to the lake's viewpoint and taking boat or kayak rides on the lake. Then return between 6:00 and 7:00 pm in the evening to Huaraz (hotel).
Day 03. Full day Rocutuyoc Lake (4450 m) – Cordillera Blanca Peru
Departure from Huaraz at 6:00 am for the Rocutuyoc Lake tour at 4,450 m, heading north guided by our official tour guide and tourist transport. During the tour, we visit the Cashapunta viewpoint, from where the entire Vicos valley and the Cordillera Blanca are shown, the Ruripaccha waterfall, cave paintings, Rocutuyoc Lake, the frozen lake, and the Ruripaccha glacier at 4,650 m. The tour takes about 9 to 10 hours. Return between 6:00 and 7:00 pm in the evening to the Huaraz hotel.
Day 04. Free day
This day is considered a free day as a precaution for the altitude and to regain energy before starting the Huayhuash Mountain Range circuit.

Day 05. Transfer Huaraz (3100m) - Chiquián - Cuartelwain (4180 m)
At 8:00 am, we pick you up at your hotels to embark on private transport and head to Cuartelwain for 5 hours, where the donkeys and muleteers await us to carry the camping equipment. Our first camp is in Cuartelwain at 4,180 m, which will help us with a good acclimation to continue the trek through one of the best circuits in the Andes of Peru.

Day 06. Cuartelwain (4180m) – Mitucocha (4230m)
After breakfast at 8:00 am, we begin trekking, passing over the first pass, Cacananpunta at 4,700 m, where we will observe Pucacocha Lake, Yanacocha Lake, and the Queropalca valley, which already belongs to the Huánuco region. After the pass, we descend to the Mitucocha camp at 4,230 m, where we will have a view of the beautiful mountains Ninashanca (5,607 m), Rondoy (5,870 m), Jirishanca Grande (6,094 m), and Jirishanca Chico (5,446 m).

Day 07. Mitucocha (4,230 m) - Carhuacocha (4,280 m)
We will have breakfast at 7:00 am, then start the hike through the Jancapampa valley and pass over the second pass, Carhuac at 4,650 m. If the groups have good acclimation and a passion for adventure, we will go via the alternate path to the three lakes viewpoint. After enjoying the beautiful view from the viewpoint, we descend to the camp to continue with the beautiful views of the Carnicero (5,960 m), Siula (6,344 m), Yerupajá (6,634 m), and El Toro (6,121 m) mountains.

Day 08. Carhuacocha (4,280 m) - Huayhuash (4,300 m)
We will have breakfast very early at 6:00 am because it is the day with the most difficulty, walking between 8 to 9 hours (approx). The path leads us between streams and lakes up to the viewpoint, where the three lakes of different colors can be seen: Siulacocha, Ganrajanca, and Azulcocha. Two hours from the viewpoint, we reach the Siula pass at 4,800 m, where we observe the mountains Carnicero (5,960 m), Jurao (5,600 m), Trapecio (5,644 m), and the León Dormido mountain, which already belongs to the Raura Mountain Range. After the pass, we descend to the Huayhuash camp.

Day 09. Huayhuash (4,350 m) - Viconga (4,330 m)
Our breakfast will be at 7:00 am to start the trek around 7:30 am. It is the calmest day of the trek, arriving at the Portachuelo pass at 4,750 m. From here, we will have a grand view of the Raura Mountain Range located between the Huánuco and Lima regions. After the pass, we descend towards Viconga Lake, passing along its shore; then we see the pools next to the Viconga camp (Guñoc). In a few more minutes, we arrive at the camp and the hot springs, one of the most appreciated camps for its 100% natural waters. After settling into our tents, we will have enough time to enjoy the pools.

Day 10. Viconga (4,330 m)- Cuyocpampa (4,550 m)
Breakfast at 7:00 am to start the hike at 7:30 am. The ascent is along a slightly steep path to the Cuyoc pass at 5,000 m. From the pass, the entirety of the Raura and Huayhuash mountain ranges can be observed. After the pass, we descend to the Cuyocpampa camp for lunch. After lunch, if the weather is good, we will take the opportunity to climb to the San Antonio viewpoint at 5,120 m to enjoy the radiant sunset at the top, then return to the camp. The extra ascent to San Antonio will take approximately 4 additional hours.

Day 11. Cuyocpampa (4,550 m) - Huayllapa (3,630 m)
Earlier breakfast at 6:00 am to start the trek around 6:30 am and be able to enjoy the radiant morning sun at the Santa Rosa pass at 5,080 m. From the pass, we will have an incredible view of the north face of the Huayhuash Mountain Range. After enjoying the beautiful view, we descend by Jurao Lake and the Calinca valley until reaching the town of Huayllapa, our campsite. Optionally, you can sleep in a guest house here and take the opportunity to recharge batteries, take a warm shower, and use the internet (wifi).

Day 12. Huayllapa (3,630 m) - Gashpapampa (4,550 m)
Breakfast at 7:00 am, then start climbing an elevation gain of 1,170 m to the Tapush pass at 4,800 m. The path is slightly steep to the Tapush pass; then, descending from the pass, the famous Diablo Mudo peak (5,350 m) is seen on the right side. In approximately 1 hour, we reach the Gashpapampa camp (Diablo Mudo base camp).

Day 13. Gashpapampa (4,550 m) - Jahuacocha Lake (4,100 m)
Penultimate day of trekking. Breakfast around 6:30 am. We begin the hike with a 30-minute descent to start the climb to the Yaucha pass at 4,800 m. After the pass, we head to the Huacrish viewpoint where we will observe an incredible panorama of the Jahuacocha and Solteracocha lakes and the peaks of the most famous mountains of the Huayhuash Mountain Range. After enjoying the beautiful view, we descend to the Jahuacocha camp where we spend the last night of the trek.

Day 14. Jahuacocha (4,100 m) - Llamac (3,300 m)
Last day of trekking. We will have breakfast very early to leave early and advance before the heat hits on the descent to Llamac. The trek starts across a plain for about 50 minutes, then we take the irrigation canal to the Pampa Llamac pass at 3,900 m. Finally, we descend to the town of Llamac where the transport awaits us for the transfer to the city of Huaraz – hotel.

We recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure a better price for you. Prices may vary according to the reservation date and the number of people. After we have reached an agreement on the total expedition price for each program we offer, you may book with a 40% deposit of the total agreed sum for the services.
This reservation will cover the following:
- Securing your spot for the scheduled date.
- Making transfer ticket reservations for Lima - Huaraz / Huaraz - Lima.
- Making hotel reservations for the scheduled dates of your arrival in Lima and Huaraz, according to the itinerary.
- Making reservations for guides, assistants, and/or staff for the scheduled date.
