Huayhuash Cordillera circuit trekking and ascension - Nevado Diablo Mudo
Day 1
Arrival in the city of Lima from the country of origin, same day transfer to the city of Huaraz and hotel
Day 2
Acclimatization day in the city of Huaraz, visit Churup lagoon 4,480 masl.
Day 3
Transfer from Huaraz to Chiquian - Llamac 3,300 masl. From this place we will start walking to Matacancha 4,180 masl. Elevation gain from Llamac 880 m. to Matacancha, hike 05 to 06 hours, where we will also meet the pack animals and muleteer.
Day 4
Matacancha 4,180 masl. Mitucocha 4,230 masl. This day we cross the first pass of Cacanan Punta 4,700 masl. From camp we will climb an elevation gain of 520 m. up to the pass; after the pass Pucacocha and Yanacocha lagoons are observed, hike will take 04 to 05 hours to the camp next to Mitucocha lagoon where we will observe the peaks Ninashanca 5,607 masl., Rondoy 5,870 masl. and Jirishanca 6,094 masl.
Day 5
Mitucocha 4,230 masl. Carhuacocha 4,280 masl. We cross the second pass Carhuac 4,650 masl. From camp elevation gain 420 m. From the pass we will observe the north face of the peaks Carnicero 5,960 masl., Siula 6,344 masl., Yerupaja 6,634 masl. and El Toro. It will take 05 to 06 hours to reach Carhuacocha camp with a view of these peaks.
Day 6
Carhuacocha 4,280 masl. Huayhuash 4,300 masl. It is the hardest day of the trek where we will walk 07 to 08 hours; the path leads us between the four lagoons to the lookout, after the lookout we will observe the four lagoons of various colors such as Siulacocha, Quesillococha Chico, Quesillococha Grande, and Azulcocha. From the lookout, in about an hour and a half, we reach the Siula pass 4,800 masl. where we will observe all the mentioned peaks. Descending from the pass we will observe the peaks Carnicero 5,960 masl., Jurao 5,600 masl., and Trapecio 5,644 masl.
Day 7
Huayhuash 4,300 masl. Viconga 4,430 masl. We arrive at the Portachuelo pass 4,750 masl. Elevation gain 450 m. Hike 05 to 06 hours to the Viconga thermal springs to enjoy the baths in the afternoon with an exquisite coca tea.
Day 8
Viconga 4,430 masl. To Cuyocpampa 4,600 masl. We will cross the Cuyoc pass 5,000 masl. Elevation gain from camp 570 m. From the pass we will observe the Raura Cordillera and the Huayhuash Cordillera in their entirety, hike 05 to 06 hours to the camp.
Day 9
Cuyocpampa 4,600 masl. Huayllapa 3,630 masl. We will cross the San Antonio pass 5,200 masl. Elevation gain 600 m. From the pass we observe the south face of the peaks already mentioned in the trekking. Hike approximately 06 to 07 hours.
Day 10
Huayllapa 3,630 masl. Gashpapampa 4,490 masl. This day we conquer the Tapush pass 4,800 masl. Elevation gain from Huayllapa 1,170 m. to the pass; 10 minutes after the pass we observe the famous Nevado Diablo Mudo 5,350 masl. The hike lasts 06 to 07 hours to the camp.
Day 11
Gashpapampa 4,490 masl. Jahuacocha Lagoon 4,100 masl. This day in the early hours 4:00 am. We will ascend to reach the summit of Nevado Diablo Mudo 5,350 masl. After the summit we descend through the Huacrish valley to the Jahuacocha lagoon camp; ascent lasts approximately 09 to 10 hours.
Day 12
Jahuacocha 4,100 masl. Llamac 3,300 masl. Where we will cross the last pass, Pampa Llamac 4,300 masl. Elevation gain 200 m. then a 1000 m. descent to Llamac, where the transport waits for us for the transfer to the city of Huaraz and hotel. Then, on the scheduled date and time of your return trips to Lima, we transfer from the hotel to the bus terminal, end of our service.

We recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure a better price for you. Prices may vary according to the reservation date and the number of people. After we have reached an agreement on the total expedition price for each program we offer, you may book with a 40% deposit of the total agreed sum for the services.
This reservation will cover the following:
- Securing your spot for the scheduled date.
- Making transfer ticket reservations for Lima - Huaraz / Huaraz - Lima.
- Making hotel reservations for the scheduled dates of your arrival in Lima and Huaraz, according to the itinerary.
- Making reservations for guides, assistants, and/or staff for the scheduled date.

- National Police Rescue Squadron, based in the city of Yungay (very close to Huascarán mountain). Phone numbers: 043-493292 / 043-493333. They also have 02 helicopters available.
- Casa de Guías Rescue Unit, based in the city of Huaraz (Parque Ginebra s/n). The rescue cost must be budgeted beforehand, and if a helicopter is required, it will also be necessary to pay for the service in advance. Website: agmp.pe
