Recommendation: Items not needed for trekking can be left in our Huaraz storage. We will deliver your belongings to your hotel in Barranca on the last day.

Day 01. Transport and hike: Huaraz (3100 m) – Jahuacocha Lake (4100 m)

At 5:00 am, we pick you up from your hotel to board tourist transport and head to the city of Chiquián where we stop for breakfast. After breakfast, we continue the trip passing through the Pacllon district to the last bus station, Lirio. Here, the muleteers await with mules to start the 3-hour trek to Jahuacocha Lake (4100 m), one of the best spots in the Cordillera Huayhuash. Once we reach camp, you will have free time to walk around the lake.

Day 02. Huacrish Viewpoint (4800 m) Jahuacocha (4100 m) – return to same camp

Today we will have breakfast at 8:00 am. Afterward, we climb to the Huacrish viewpoint (4800 m), which offers an incredible panorama of Jahuacocha and Solteracocha lakes in their entirety, along with the main peaks of the Huayhuash range. After enjoying the landscapes, we return via the same path to camp for lunch. After lunch, we take the opportunity to observe the trout in the lake; you can also try hook-and-line fishing.

Day 03. Sambuya Pass and Viewpoint (4800 m) Jahuacocha (4100 m) - Cuartelwain (4180 m)

Breakfast at 7:00 am at the camp. We start the hike along the shore of Jahuacocha Lake toward Solteracocha Lake. From here, the ascent begins toward the Sambuya pass (4800 m), offering an impressive view of the northern side of the Cordillera Huayhuash. After enjoying the view, we descend through the Rondoy valley to the Cuartelwain camp.

Day 04. Cacanpunta Pass and Viewpoint (4700 m) Cuartelwain (4180 m) - Mitucocha (4280 m)

After breakfast at the camp, the hike begins at 8:00 am, crossing the third pass, Cacananpunta (4700 m). From the pass, you can see the Pucacocha and Yanacocha lakes and the Queropalca valley. We then descend to the Jancapampa (Mitucocha) camp with beautiful views of the South American Andes.

Day 05. 2 Passes and 2 Viewpoints: Alcaycocha (4690 m) and Carhuac (4680 m) Jancapampa (4280 m) - Carhuacocha (4280 m)

On the fifth day at 7:00 am, after breakfast, we begin the trek through the Janca valley with a light climb to the Alcaycocha pass (4700 m). From the pass, we descend along the shore of Alcaycocha Lake and continue to another viewpoint of 5 lakes, Carhuac (4720 m). After enjoying the view, we descend to camp for lunch and continue viewing mountains: Carnicero (5,960 m), Siula (6,344 m), Yerupaja (6,634 m), and Toro (6,121 m).

Day 06. 2 Passes and 2 Viewpoints – 3 Lakes Viewpoint (4550 m) and Siula Pass (4800 m) Carhuacocha (4280 m) - Huayhuash (4350 m)

We take breakfast very early at 6:00 am for the most demanding day of the trek (approx. 8 to 9 hours). The path leads between streams and lagoons to the viewpoint of the three differently colored lakes: Siulacocha, Ganrajanca, and Quesillacocha. About two hours from the viewpoint, we reach the Siula pass (4,800 m), viewing Carnicero, Jurao, and Trapecio. To the east, the León Dormido mountain (5400 m) in the Raura range is visible. We then descend to Huayhuash camp.

Day 07. Portachuelo Pass and Viewpoint (4750 m) Huayhuash (4350 m) – Viconga Hot Springs (4310 m)

Breakfast at 7:00 am. We start the trek through the Huayhuash valley, a very gentle climb to the Portachuelo pass (4750 m). From the pass, León Dormido mountain and the Raura range are visible. We descend to Viconga Lake to enjoy its views, and an hour later reach camp for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a soak in the Viconga thermal pools.

Day 08. 2 Passes and 2 Viewpoints: Cuyoc (5000 m) and San Antonio (5200 m) Viconga Hot Springs (4310 m) – Cuyocpampa (4550 m)

Breakfast at 7:00 am. We start the hike up the Pumarinri valley on a zigzag path to the Cuyoc pass (5000 m). Cuyoc mountain (5550 m) is very close to the pass. We also see the entirety of the Raura and Huayhuash ranges. After the views, we descend to camp for lunch. In the afternoon, we climb to the San Antonio viewpoint (5200 m); the round trip takes approximately 4 hours.

Breakfast at 7:00 am to start the hike to the Trapecio viewpoint (5030 m), viewing the Azulcocha lagoon and Cuyoc mountain. We then proceed to the Santa Rosa viewpoint (5080 m) to see the north face of the Huayhuash range, Sarapococha, and Jurao lagoons. After enjoying the wonders of the South American Andes, we descend to Cuyocpampa camp for lunch, an afternoon of rest, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 10. Huayllapa Waterfall (3900 m) Cuyocpampa (4550 m) - Huayllapa (3630 m) – Barranca (50 m)

Breakfast at 6:00 am. The hike starts around 6:30 am, all downhill through the Guanacpatay valley to the Huayllapa waterfall. We descend a rocky path very close to the waterfall, continuing until we reach the Andean village of Huayllapa. Our transport awaits to take us to the city of Barranca, moving from the Andes to the Peruvian coast to rest and celebrate the final day of the trek. End of our services.

After we have reached an agreement on the total expedition price for each program we offer, you may book with a 40% deposit of the total agreed sum for the services.

This reservation will cover the following:

  1. Securing your spot for the scheduled date.
  2. Making transfer ticket reservations for Lima - Huaraz / Huaraz - Lima.
  3. Making hotel reservations for the scheduled dates of your arrival in Lima and Huaraz, according to the itinerary.
  4. Making reservations for guides, assistants, and/or staff for the scheduled date.
