The "Paramount mountain" refers to Nevado Artezonraju 6025 m.a.s.l., an iconic pyramid-shaped mountain in the Peruvian Andes (Cordillera Blanca) used as the Paramount Pictures logo. It is located in the department of Ancash and is within the Huascarán National Park reserve. Without a doubt, it is the most beautiful mountain in the region due to its beautiful pyramid shape on the Southeast face, which is climbed through the Parón ravine.

Day 01. Huaraz (3100 Masl) – Cashapampa (2900 Masl) – Llamacoral (3760 Masl)

At 7:00 am. After breakfast at the hotel, we transfer you from Huaraz to Cashapampa 2,900 masl. Here, the muleteer staff with donkeys awaits us to transport the mountain equipment to the first camp of the expedition, Llamacoral 3670 masl. The path takes us along the Yurakmayu River to the place where we will spend the night. Transport takes about 3 hours and the hike another 4 to 5 hours.

Day 02. Llamacoral (3760 Masl) – Taullipampa Base Camp (4250 Masl)

Second day of the expedition, we have breakfast at 8:00 am. Then we depart from Llamacoral to the Artezonraju base camp at 4250m. Through the Santa Cruz valley, passing by the Jatuncocha and Quisuarpampa lagoons, we then arrive at the Artezonraju base camp. Dinner and rest for the next day. The hike takes 5 to 6 hours.

Day 03. Base Camp (4250 Masl) – High Camp (5190 Masl)

Day of ascent from base camp to Artezonraju High Camp 5190 m.a.s.l. After breakfast at base camp we depart around 8:00 am, all uphill for 4 to 5 hours until the high camp. Today's ascent takes between 4 to 5 hours, dinner and rest for the next day.

Free Day At High Camp

This day is considered a free day for weather safety; if the weather becomes cloudy and rainy, we stay waiting for it to improve to climb the summit of Artezonraju the next day.

Day 05. High Camp (5190 Masl) – Artezonraju Mountain Summit (6025 Masl)

At 12:00 am. After having a hot drink, the climb to the summit of Artezonraju 6025 m.a.s.l. begins. After a good day of climbing with a 60° and 70° wall inclination, you reach the summit, where you will have the reward of seeing a fascinating view of the Peruvian Andes (Cordillera Blanca). After having time to take photos and videos, we start descending by the same ascent route to the high camp for a hot soup and rest. The day's expedition takes between 12 to 13 hours.

Day 06. High Camp (5190 Masl) – Base Camp (4250 Masl)

After breakfast at the high camp, we begin the descent to the base camp, all the way down the same ascent path to base camp. This day the descent takes between 04 to 05 hours.

Day 07. Base Camp – Cashapampa – Huaraz Hotel

Breakfast around 6:00 am at base camp, then start walking all downhill by the same ascent path until reaching the town of Cashapampa. Here the transport awaits us for the return transfer to the city of Huaraz.

We recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure a better price for you. Prices may vary according to the reservation date and the number of people. After we have reached an agreement on the total expedition price for each program we offer, you may book with a 40% deposit of the total agreed sum for the services.

This reservation will cover the following:

Securing your spot for the scheduled date.
Making transfer ticket reservations for Lima - Huaraz / Huaraz - Lima.
Making hotel reservations for the scheduled dates of your arrival in Lima and Huaraz, according to the itinerary.
Making reservations for guides, assistants, and/or staff for the scheduled date.

National Police Rescue Squadron, based in the city of Yungay (very close to Huascarán mountain). Phone numbers: 043-493292 / 043-493333. They also have 02 helicopters available.
Casa de Guías Rescue Unit, based in the city of Huaraz (Parque Ginebra s/n). The rescue cost must be budgeted beforehand, and if a helicopter is required, it will also be necessary to pay for the service in advance. Website: agmp.pe
