Vallunaraju mountain is an iconic 5,680 m.a.s.l. mountain in the Cordillera Blanca, located a few kilometers from Huaraz, Peru. It is famous for its two peaks and for being an excellent destination to start mountaineering due to its accessibility in 2 days, offering spectacular views and allowing the practice of glacier and crevasse techniques. Known as the "snowy mountain of dreams," its ascent from the Llaca Ravine requires acclimation, guides, and technical equipment, being a moderate but physically demanding adventure. In fact, it is located within the Huascaran National Park reserve.

Day 01. Arrival in Lima and Huaraz

Arrival in the city of Lima from the country of origin, same day transfer to the city of Huaraz and hotel.

Day 02. Huaraz - Moraine Camp

Transfer from Huaraz to the Vallunaraju base camp in private transport. From this place, we will start walking to the moraine camp at 4,780 masl. The walk lasts 04 to 05 hours.

Day 03. Vallunaraju Summit - Return

This day in the early hours at 4:00 am, we will ascend via the col route, all walking; near the summit there is a 50-meter slope, then we reach the summit at 5,685 masl. After the summit, return to the base camp where the transport awaits us for the transfer to the city of Huaraz and the hotel. Then, on the scheduled date and time of your return trip to Lima, we transfer you from the hotel to the bus terminal, end of our service.

We recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure a better price for you. Prices may vary according to the reservation date and the number of people. After we have reached an agreement on the total expedition price for each program we offer, you may book with a 40% deposit of the total agreed sum for the services.

This reservation will cover the following:

Securing your spot for the scheduled date.
Making transfer ticket reservations for Lima - Huaraz / Huaraz - Lima.
Making hotel reservations for the scheduled dates of your arrival in Lima and Huaraz, according to the itinerary.
Making reservations for guides, assistants, and/or staff for the scheduled date.

National Police Rescue Squadron, based in the city of Yungay (very close to Huascarán mountain). Phone numbers: 043-493292 / 043-493333. They also have 02 helicopters available.
Casa de Guías Rescue Unit, based in the city of Huaraz (Parque Ginebra s/n). The rescue cost must be budgeted beforehand, and if a helicopter is required, it will also be necessary to pay for the service in advance. Website: agmp.pe
