Day 01: Cusco – Tinki - Pacchanta – Jampa Camp

At 5:00 am we pick you up from the hotel to board our private transport and head to the community of Upis, crossing the well-known South Valley; here we have breakfast before starting the walk. After breakfast, we begin the trek at a slow pace to gradually acclimatize to the altitude. Our journey heads towards the Upis camp, where we will have the first views of the snow-capped Ausangate welcoming us. After a few hours, we arrive at the lunch point. After enjoying a delicious lunch prepared by our cook, we will have time to rest, and in the afternoon, we will go out to explore the surroundings of the Huayna Ausangate lagoon. We will end the day with tea and coffee time and dinner before staying overnight.

Day 02: Jampa - Huchuyphynaya - Jampa Pass 5100 m - Ausangatecocha

A demanding day, but with beautiful views. After having enjoyed breakfast, we will start the walk, crossing in the first hours the different lagoons located at the foot of the great blue, green, and turquoise Apu Ausangate, accompanied by peaks covered in permanent glaciers and moraine with admirable landscapes until reaching the highest point of this day, JAMPA pass 5100 m. Then we will be enjoying the enchanting panorama; after some photos and videos, we will be descending to our camp where a hot drink and dinner await us for the night.

Day 03: Ausangatecocha – Red Lagoon - Warmisayana Pass - Anantapata

The walk around Ausangate will always provide us with incredible views of the rolling mountains; today will be no exception. After having enjoyed breakfast, we will begin our ascent to the highest part of the entire day with an exceptional view at Warmisayana (Palomani) pass 5200 m. From this point, you can appreciate the unique and picturesque panorama of the area and part of the famous Rainbow Mountain. After a few hours of descent, we will arrive at the Ausangatecocha lagoon, where we will take a break to enjoy lunch. After having enjoyed our food, we will continue our journey along the mountains until arriving at our camp, where we will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 04: Anantapata - Rainbow Mountain - Red Valley Lookout - Cusipata - Cusco.

Nature always surprises us; this time it is our turn to visit the famous Vinicunca mountain (Rainbow Mountain), one of the most visited destinations in recent years. For hikers, it is better to visit by making the small sacrifice of getting up very early to be the first on the mountain to avoid the crowds. After having visited our objective, we will begin the return path to the point where the transport awaits us to return to the city of Cusco.

Booking Conditions

We recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure a better price for you. Prices may vary according to the reservation date and the number of people. After we have reached an agreement on the total expedition price for each program we offer, you may book with a 40% deposit of the total agreed sum for the services.

This reservation will cover the following:

  1. Securing your spot for the scheduled date.
  2. Making transfer ticket reservations for Lima - Huaraz / Huaraz - Lima.
  3. Making hotel reservations for the scheduled dates of your arrival in Lima and Huaraz, according to the itinerary.
  4. Making reservations for guides, assistants, and/or staff for the scheduled date.

The remaining 60% will be paid in Huaraz after you have checked into your hotel. To begin the organization of your expeditions, please contact us for more information.

There are 02 rescue units in Huaraz
  1. National Police Rescue Squadron, based in the city of Yungay (very close to Huascarán mountain). Phone numbers: 043-493292 / 043-493333. They also have 02 helicopters available.
  2. Casa de Guías Rescue Unit, based in the city of Huaraz (Parque Ginebra s/n). The rescue cost must be budgeted beforehand, and if a helicopter is required, it will also be necessary to pay for the service in advance. Website: agmp.pe
