Day 01: Cusco - Cachorra - Chikiska

This day we pick you up from your hotel in the City of Cusco at 5:30 am. Heading to the town of San Pedro de Cachorra, where the staff, Guide, Cook, and Porters await us. Then we start the hike to the Chikiska camp, approximately 5 to 6 hours of walking.

Day 02. Chikiska - Choquequirao

This day we will start the walk towards the Choquequirao archaeological group; the entire route will be uphill. We will have lunch near the town of Marampata, then we will arrive at our camp at the Inca terraces, approximately 7 to 8 hours of walking.

Day 03: Choquequirao - Maizal

This day we will visit the entire archaeological site and enjoy a guided tour for about two hours; then we continue ascending through the Rio Blanco sector, where we will have lunch. After three hours from lunch, we arrive at our camp in the Maizal sector, approximately 5 to 6 hours of walking.

Day 04: Maizal - Yanama

This day we will ascend for an average of three hours, bordering the Yanama pass. After the pass, we go by the Victoria mines until we reach our Yanama camp, approximately 6 to 7 hours of walking.

Day 05: Yanama - Collpa

Today's walk will be moderate due to the geography of the area, descending through some slopes where we can observe the biodiversity. Then we reach the Totoral area where we will have lunch. After three hours from lunch, we will arrive at the Collpa camp, a walk of approximately 5 to 6 hours.

Day 06: Collpa - Playa

Today the walk will be short but very attractive, as we will have the opportunity to take a refreshing bath in one of the waterfalls descending from the mountains. After a few minutes, we will arrive at our Playa camp. Lunch will be at the camp and we will have a free afternoon to relax.

Day 07: Playa - Aguas Calientes

This day we will start our walk ascending a small hill that will lead us to one of the small archaeological groups scattered in the area called Llaqtapata; a rock carved for astronomical purposes is exposed in the area. Lunch will be in the hydroelectric sector where we will take the train that will take us to Aguas Calientes and the hotel.

Day 08: Machu Picchu - Cusco

This day we will go by bus or walking to Machu Picchu, where we will enjoy a guided tour for about two hours. Afterward, we will have enough time to climb Huayna Picchu Mountain. Then we will return to Aguas Calientes to take the train to the City of Cusco and the hotel; the train journey lasts 4 hours.

Booking Conditions

We recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure a better price for you. Prices may vary according to the reservation date and the number of people. After we have reached an agreement on the total expedition price for each program we offer, you may book with a 40% deposit of the total agreed sum for the services.

This reservation will cover the following:

  1. Securing your spot for the scheduled date.
  2. Making transfer ticket reservations for Lima - Huaraz / Huaraz - Lima.
  3. Making hotel reservations for the scheduled dates of your arrival in Lima and Huaraz, according to the itinerary.
  4. Making reservations for guides, assistants, and/or staff for the scheduled date.

The remaining 60% will be paid in Huaraz after you have checked into your hotel. To begin the organization of your expeditions, please contact us for more information.

There are 02 rescue units in Huaraz
  1. National Police Rescue Squadron, based in the city of Yungay (very close to Huascarán mountain). Phone numbers: 043-493292 / 043-493333. They also have 02 helicopters available.
  2. Casa de Guías Rescue Unit, based in the city of Huaraz (Parque Ginebra s/n). The rescue cost must be budgeted beforehand, and if a helicopter is required, it will also be necessary to pay for the service in advance. Website: agmp.pe
