Day 01. Country of origin to Lima (161 masl) Peru – Huaraz (3100 m)

Franpisco Adventure staff will wait for you at Jorge Chávez Airport. We then transfer you to the public bus terminal for the journey to Huaraz, which takes about 8 hours. Upon arrival in Huaraz, we transfer you to your hotel. There is also an option to fly from Lima to Anta - Huaraz. Flights are available daily (Lima-Anta 7:30 am, Anta-Lima 9:15 am; Tuesdays/Thursdays Lima-Anta 11:15 am, Anta-Lima 1:14 pm). This can be managed by the traveler.

Acclimatization days – Cordillera Blanca. (Also possible to change for another tour of your choice)
Day 02. Full day Paron Lake (4250 masl) – Cordillera Blanca Peru

Departure from Huaraz at 8:00 am heading north. Guided by an official tour guide, we visit Carhuaz (the city of ice cream), Yungay (Campo Santo), and Caraz (famous for manjar blanco) before reaching Paron Lake. We stay for 3 to 4 hours to enjoy the viewpoint and boat or kayak rides. Return to Huaraz hotel between 6:00 and 7:00 pm.

Day 03. Full day Rocutoyoc Lake (4450 masl) – Cordillera Blanca Peru

Departure at 6:00 am. We visit the Cashapunta viewpoint with views of the Vicos valley, Ruripaccha waterfall, cave paintings, Rocutuyoc Lake, the frozen lake, and the Ruripaccha glacier (4,650 masl). The tour lasts 9 to 10 hours. Return to Huaraz hotel by 7:00 pm.

Day 04. Huaraz (3100m) Cuartelwain (4180 masl) - Mitucocha (4280 masl)

At 5:00 am, we head to Cuartelwain (approx. 5 hours total with a breakfast stop). Here, muleteers and donkeys join us to begin the trek. We cross the first pass, Cacananpunta (4700 masl), then descend to the first camp at Jancapampa (Mitucocha) with beautiful Andean views.

Day 05. Mitucocha (4230 masl) - Carhuacocha (4,280 masl)

After breakfast at 7:00 am, we walk through the Janca valley towards the Carhuac pass (4,650 masl). If the group is well-acclimatized, we take an alternative path to the Three Lakes viewpoint. We then descend to camp while enjoying views of Mount Carnicero (5,960m), Siula (6,344m), Yerupaja (6,634m), and Toro (6,121m).

Day 06. Carhuacocha (4280 masl) - Huayhuash (4350 masl)

The most demanding day (8-9 hours). We walk past streams and lagoons to a viewpoint overlooking Siulacocha, Ganrajanca, and Quesillacocha lakes. We then reach the Siula Pass (4,800 masl), seeing mountains like Trapecio and León Dormido (Raura Range), before descending to the Huayhuash camp.

Day 07. Huayhuash (4,350 masl) - Cuyocpampa (4550 masl)

We hike through the Huayhuash valley between Mount Trapecio and Putscanturpa. After 2 hours, we climb to the Trapecio pass (5,030 masl), viewing Azulcocha lake and Mount Cuyoc. We descend to Cuyocpampa. Weather permitting, we can hike to the San Antonio viewpoint (5,120 masl) for sunset.

Day 08. Cuyocpampa (4,550 masl) - Huayllapa (3630 masl)

We start at 6:30 am to reach the Santa Rosa pass (5,080 masl) to see the sunrise and the north face of the Huayhuash range. We descend past Jurao lake to Huayllapa, where transport takes us to Cajatambo and finally back to a hotel in Lima.

Day 09. Free day in Lima

A free day to explore the Miraflores district, enjoy Peruvian gastronomy, and return to the hotel.

Amazon Tour – Iquitos – (Loreto)
Day 10. Lima - Iquitos – Lodge

Fly to Iquitos (1h 50m). We explore the city's rubber-boom era architecture (Iron House, Palace Hotel). We then board a boat to navigate the Itaya and Amazon rivers. We visit Fundo Pedrito to see Paiches (giant fish), caimans, and giant water lilies (Victoria Regia). Afternoon hike at the lodge to see squirrel monkeys and a night canoe excursion to find small caimans.

Day 11. Lodge – Fishing in the Amazon – Peruvian Jungle

Early birdwatching at sunrise. After breakfast, we enjoy recreational fishing for piranhas, sardines, and catfish. In the afternoon, we search for gray and pink river dolphins. After dinner, a night walk allows us to hear the rainforest symphony and spot tarantulas and insects.

Day 12. Lodge – Monkey Island – Riverside Village

Morning canoe excursion in Shansho lagoon to see the prehistoric Hoatzin bird. We then visit the private 'Monkey Island' project, home to endangered species like howler, spider, and squirrel monkeys. In the afternoon, we visit the riverside village of 'Pantoja' to learn about local life.

Day 13. Lodge - Butterfly Farm – Iquitos

Final boat excursion to a butterfly farm to learn about the lifecycle of the Morpho butterfly. Return to the lodge for lunch and then transfer back to Iquitos city and your hotel.

Day 14. Iquitos – Lima – Hotel

Transfer to the airport for your flight back to Lima. We transfer you to your hotel in Miraflores for your last night in the capital.

Day 15. Lima – Country of origin

Airport transfer 4 hours before your flight. End of our services.

We recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure a better price for you. Prices may vary according to the reservation date and the number of people. After we have reached an agreement on the total expedition price for each program we offer, you may book with a 40% deposit of the total agreed sum for the services.

This reservation will cover the following:

  1. Securing your spot for the scheduled date.
  2. Making transfer ticket reservations for Lima - Huaraz / Huaraz - Lima.
  3. Making hotel reservations for the scheduled dates of your arrival in Lima and Huaraz, according to the itinerary.
  4. Making reservations for guides, assistants, and/or staff for the scheduled date.

There are 02 rescue units in Huaraz
  1. National Police Rescue Squadron, based in the city of Yungay (very close to Huascarán mountain). Phone numbers: 043-493292 / 043-493333. They also have 02 helicopters available.
  2. Casa de Guías Rescue Unit, based in the city of Huaraz (Parque Ginebra s/n). The rescue cost must be budgeted beforehand, and if a helicopter is required, it will also be necessary to pay for the service in advance. Website: agmp.pe
