Standard travel - huayhuash trek – huayllapa 08d / 07n
Day 01. Arrival from country of origin to Lima Peru (100 m) – Huaraz 3100 m
To go on the beautiful Huayhuash mountain range trek, first travel to the capital of Peru, Lima. On the same day, you can travel by public bus north to the city of Huaraz (3100 m); the trip takes about 8 hours. There is also the possibility of traveling by plane from Lima to Anta - Ancash. Flight times every day of the week: Lima to Anta - Huaraz at 7:30 am, Anta to Lima at 9:15 am. On Tuesdays and Thursdays: Lima to Anta at 11:15 am, Anta – Lima at 1:15 pm. If you are traveling only for vacations to enjoy these beautiful programs, at least 2 days of acclimation are recommended; if you have been traveling through different countries, acclimation days in Huaraz may not be necessary.
Acclimation days – Cordillera Blanca. It is also possible to change for another tour of your choice.
Day 02. Full day Parón Lake (4250 m) – Cordillera Blanca Peru
Departure from Huaraz at 8:00 am for the Parón Lake tour (4,250 m) heading north, guided by an official tour guide in tourist transport. During the tour, we visit the province of Carhuaz, known as the city of ice cream, Yungay (Campo Santo), and Caraz Dulzura, known for the production of manjar blanco, before heading to Parón Lake. We stay here for about 3 to 4 hours to climb to the lake's viewpoint and take boat or kayak rides. Then return to Huaraz (hotel) between 6:00 and 7:00 pm.

Day 03. Full day Rocutuyoc Lake (4450 m) – Cordillera Blanca Peru
Departure from Huaraz at 6:00 am for the Rocutuyoc Lake tour (4,450 m) heading north, guided by an official tour guide in tourist transport. During the tour, we visit the Cashapunta viewpoint, which shows the entire Vicos valley and the Cordillera Blanca, the Ruripaccha waterfall, cave paintings, Rocutuyoc Lake, the frozen lake, and the Ruripaccha glacier (4,650 m). The tour takes about 9 to 10 hours. Return to the Huaraz hotel between 6:00 and 7:00 pm.

Day 04. Huaraz (3100m) Cuartelwain (4180 m) - Mitucocha (4280 m)
At 5:00 am, we pick you up from your hotels to board private transport for about 4 hours until the first breakfast stop, then continue to Cuartelwain for another hour. Here the muleteers await with donkeys to start the Huayhuash trek, crossing the first pass, Cacananpunta (4,700 m). From the pass, we descend to the first camp, Jancapampa (Mitucocha), with beautiful views of the Peruvian Andes.

Day 05. Mitucocha (4230 m) - Carhuacocha (4280 m)
Second day at 7:00 am. After breakfast, we begin the hike through the Janca valley, a gentle climb to the second pass, Carhuac (4,650 m). If the groups are well acclimated and passionate about adventure, we will take the alternate path to the three lakes viewpoint. After enjoying the view, we descend to the camp to see the mountains: Carnicero (5,960 m), Siula (6,344 m), Yerupajá (6,634 m), and Toro (6,121 m).

Day 06. Carhuacocha (4280 m) - Huayhuash (4350 m)
Today we have breakfast very early at 6:00 am; it is the most demanding day of the trek, walking approximately 8 to 9 hours. The path leads between streams and lakes to the viewpoint where three lakes of different colors can be seen: Siulacocha, Ganrajanca, and Quesillacocha. About two hours from the viewpoint, we reach the Siula pass (4,800 m), seeing the mountains: Carnicero, Jurao, and Trapecio. To the east, the León Dormido mountain (5,400 m) is visible. After the stunning views, we descend gently to the Huayhuash camp.

Day 07. Huayhuash (4350 m) - Cuyocpampa (4550 m)
Breakfast as always at 7:00 am to start the hike through the Huayhuash valley between the Trapecio and Putscanturpa mountains. After 2 hours, we begin the climb to the Trapecio pass (5,030 m). From here, you can see the entire Azulcocha lake and the Cuyoc mountain. We then descend to the Cuyocpampa camp. If weather permits, after lunch, you can climb to the San Antonio viewpoint (5,120 m) to enjoy the sunset at the summit before returning to camp.
Day Information
Day 08. Cuyocpampa (4550 m) - Huayllapa (3630 m)
Last day breakfast at 6:00 am to start the ascent at 6:30 am to the Santa Rosa pass (5,080 m) to enjoy the radiant sunrise. From here, we have an incredible view of the north face of the Huayhuash range. After the view, we descend through the Jurao lake and Calinca valley to the town of Huayllapa. In town, transport awaits for the transfer to Cajatambo – Hotel. Note: our services end here. After checking in, you can buy bus tickets to Lima.

We recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure a better price for you. Prices may vary according to the reservation date and the number of people. After we have reached an agreement on the total expedition price for each program we offer, you may book with a 40% deposit of the total agreed sum for the services.
This reservation will cover the following:
- Securing your spot for the scheduled date.
- Making transfer ticket reservations for Lima - Huaraz / Huaraz - Lima.
- Making hotel reservations for the scheduled dates of your arrival in Lima and Huaraz, according to the itinerary.
- Making reservations for guides, assistants, and/or staff for the scheduled date.

There are 02 rescue units in Huaraz
- National Police Rescue Squadron, based in the city of Yungay (very close to Huascarán mountain). Phone numbers: 043-493292 / 043-493333. They also have 02 helicopters available.
- Casa de Guías Rescue Unit, based in the city of Huaraz (Parque Ginebra s/n). The rescue cost must be budgeted beforehand, and if a helicopter is required, it will also be necessary to pay for the service in advance. Website: agmp.pe
