Day 01: Arequipa - Morena Camp

At 7:00 am, we pick you up from your hotel in a 4x4 to head toward the starting point of the ascent to Morena camp at 4,950 m (Camping). The transport takes 3 and a half hours, and the ascent to Morena camp takes another 3 hours.

Day 02: Morena Camp – Chachani Summit 6,057 m. Arequipa

At 3:00 am, the guided ascent begins with a local guide. The route to the summit is entirely on a path without rocks or ice; scarcely any snow can be found at the Chachani summit (6,057 m). Arrival is around 7:00 am to 8:00 am. From the summit, you can appreciate a spectacular view of the volcanoes Coropuna, Ampato, Hualca Hualca, Sabancaya (an active volcano), Misti, Ubinas, and the city of Arequipa. After the summit, return to the 4x4 pickup point and transfer to the Misti Volcano base camp at 4,600 m. Camping.

Day 03: Base Camp – Misti Volcano Summit 5,822 m. Arequipa

At 3:00 am, the guided ascent begins with a local guide. The route to the summit is entirely sand and soil; scarcely any snow can be found at the Misti summit (5,822 m). After the summit, return to the base camp where the 4x4 transport waits for the transfer back to Arequipa. The return is between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm, arriving at the hotel in Arequipa.

Booking Conditions

We recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure a better price for you. Prices may vary according to the reservation date and the number of people. After we have reached an agreement on the total expedition price for each program we offer, you may book with a 40% deposit of the total agreed sum for the services.

This reservation will cover the following:

Securing your spot for the scheduled date.
Making transfer ticket reservations for Lima - Huaraz / Huaraz - Lima.
Making hotel reservations for the scheduled dates of your arrival in Lima and Huaraz, according to the itinerary.
Making reservations for guides, assistants, and/or staff for the scheduled date.

The remaining 60% will be paid in Huaraz after you have checked into your hotel. To begin the organization of your expeditions, please contact us for more information.

There are 02 rescue units in Huaraz

National Police Rescue Squadron, based in the city of Yungay (very close to Huascarán mountain). Phone numbers: 043-493292 / 043-493333. They also have 02 helicopters available.
Casa de Guías Rescue Unit, based in the city of Huaraz (Parque Ginebra s/n). The rescue cost must be budgeted beforehand, and if a helicopter is required, it will also be necessary to pay for the service in advance. Website: agmp.pe
