Day 01: Cusco – km 82 – Huayllabamba

We pick you up from the Hotel at 06:00 am to board private transport to Km. 82, which is the starting point of our walk, passing through the towns of Chinchero, Urubamba, and Ollantaytambo. The first section of this circuit will take place along the Urubamba River with an excellent view of Mount Veronica (5,900 m), we will have our lunch in the small town of Miskay, then we will continue towards the Archaeological site of Llactapata through the Cusi Chaca river valley, arriving near the town of Huayllabamba (3,000 m) where our camp will be.

Day 02: Huayllabamba – Warmiwañusca Pass – Pacaymayo

After breakfast at the camp, the walk begins slowly ascending to the Warmiwañusca pass (4200 m) crossing a beautiful forest of Polylepis trees; we will have attractive views of the Andean landscapes. Next, we reach Llulluchapampa (3,750 m), the typical plain at the foot of the pass, and then we arrive at the Warmiwañusca pass. From the pass, we descend to the Pacaymayo Valley (3,620 m) where we will have lunch and set up our camp to stay overnight. From here, we can appreciate the extraordinary construction of the Inca Trail. In the afternoon of this day, we can explore the area a bit and will have time to rest and relax. In the evening, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 03: Pacaymayo - Runkurakay – Sayacmarca – Wiñaywayna

Very early after breakfast, we will start our walk. This is one of the most beautiful days of the Inca Trail. We will visit the Runkurakay archaeological site; from this place, we will have a spectacular view of the area. We will go up the pass of the same name (3,800 m) and continue towards the archaeological sites of Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarca, and Wiñaywayna, which are linked to each other by a wonderful original Inca trail made of white granite, amidst the abundant vegetation of the forest. We will observe the remarkable balance achieved by the Incas and their environment. We will have our lunch halfway in a beautiful camp known as ChaquiCocha. Our camp will be located in the surroundings of the Wiñaywayna archaeological site (2,700 m).

Day 04: Wiñaywayna – Inti Punku – Machu Picchu – Cusco

This day we wake up early at 4:00 AM, have breakfast, and start the walk at 5:00 AM. We say goodbye to the porters because they will return to Cusco with all the camping equipment. We will walk through thick vegetation typical of the rainforest towards the Sun Gate or Inti Punku, from where we will have a formidable panoramic view of the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, arriving at approximately 7:00 AM. Once here, we will have a 2.5-hour guided visit accompanied by our guide who will show you the history of Machu Picchu's past. Then we take a bus down for 20 minutes to the town of Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes), where we will have free time to have lunch on our own (not included in the package). After lunch, we take the train to Ollantaytambo where the transport awaits us for the transfer to the hotel in the city of Cusco.

Booking Conditions

We recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure a better price for you. Prices may vary according to the reservation date and the number of people. After we have reached an agreement on the total expedition price for each program we offer, you may book with a 40% deposit of the total agreed sum for the services.

This reservation will cover the following:

  1. Securing your spot for the scheduled date.
  2. Making transfer ticket reservations for Lima - Huaraz / Huaraz - Lima.
  3. Making hotel reservations for the scheduled dates of your arrival in Lima and Huaraz, according to the itinerary.
  4. Making reservations for guides, assistants, and/or staff for the scheduled date.

The remaining 60% will be paid in Huaraz after you have checked into your hotel. To begin the organization of your expeditions, please contact us for more information.

There are 02 rescue units in Huaraz
  1. National Police Rescue Squadron, based in the city of Yungay (very close to Huascarán mountain). Phone numbers: 043-493292 / 043-493333. They also have 02 helicopters available.
  2. Casa de Guías Rescue Unit, based in the city of Huaraz (Parque Ginebra s/n). The rescue cost must be budgeted beforehand, and if a helicopter is required, it will also be necessary to pay for the service in advance. Website: agmp.pe
