Day 1

Arrival in Lima city from the country of origin, same day transfer to Huaraz city and hotel.

Day 2

Acclimatization trekking in Huaraz city, visit Churup lagoon at 4,480 masl.

Day 3

Transfer from Huaraz - Chiquian - Llamac (3,300 masl.). From here, we begin walking to Matacancha (4,180 masl.), with an elevation gain of 880 m from Llamac. Hike lasts 5 to 6 hours. We will also meet the muleteer and pack animals.

Day 4

Matacancha (4,180 masl.) to Mitucocha (4,230 masl.). Today we cross the first pass, Cacanampunta (4,700 masl.), climbing 520 m from the camp. From the pass, we observe Pucacocha and Yanacocha lagoons. Hike lasts 4 to 5 hours to the camp next to Mitucocha lagoon, with views of Ninashanca (5,607 masl.), Rondoy (5,870 masl.), and Jirishanca (6,094 masl.) peaks.

Day 5

Mitucocha (4,230 masl.) to Carhuacocha (4,280 masl.). We cross the second pass, Carhuac (4,650 masl.), climbing 420 m. From the pass, we observe the north face of Carnicero (5,960 masl.), Siula (6,344 masl.), Yerupaja (6,634 masl.), and El Toro peaks. It will take 5 to 6 hours to reach Carhuacocha camp with views of these mountains.

Day 6

Carhuacocha (4,280 masl.) to Huayhuash (4,300 masl.). This is the toughest day of the trek, walking 7 to 8 hours. The path leads us between four lagoons to a viewpoint where we see Siulacocha, Quesillococha Chico, Quesillococha Grande, and Azulcocha. From the viewpoint, a 1.5-hour climb takes us to Siula Pass (4,800 masl.) to observe the peaks. Descending, we see Carnicero (5,960 masl.), Jurao (5,600 masl.), and Trapecio (5,644 masl.) peaks.

Day 7

Huayhuash (4,300 masl.) to Viconga (4,430 masl.). We arrive at Portachuelo Pass (4,750 masl.) with a 450 m elevation gain. Hike takes 5 to 6 hours to Viconga thermal springs to enjoy the baths in the afternoon with an exquisite coca tea.

Day 8

Nevado Pumarinri Ascension (5,465 masl.). Starting early at 3:30 AM, we ascend to reach the summit of Pumarinri (5,465 masl.) accompanied by a mountain guide. After the summit, return to the same camp. The ascent lasts approximately 9 to 10 hours.

Day 9

Viconga (4,430 masl.) to Cajatambo (3,380 masl.). The path leads us through the Pumarinri valley to San Cristobal Pass (4,150 masl.). After the pass, we descend for 1 hour and 20 minutes, feeling the change to the coastal climate of Peru, arriving at a guesthouse in Cajatambo.

Day 10

Cajatambo (3,380 masl.) to Pativilca (50 masl.). At 5:30 AM, we transfer from Cajatambo by public bus to Pativilca, then take a taxi to Huaraz city and hotel. At the scheduled time for your return trip to Lima, we transfer you from the hotel to the bus terminal. End of our service.

We recommend making a reservation in advance to ensure a better price for you. Prices may vary according to the reservation date and the number of people. After we have reached an agreement on the total expedition price for each program we offer, you may book with a 40% deposit of the total agreed sum for the services.

This reservation will cover the following:

  1. Securing your spot for the scheduled date.
  2. Making transfer ticket reservations for Lima - Huaraz / Huaraz - Lima.
  3. Making hotel reservations for the scheduled dates of your arrival in Lima and Huaraz, according to the itinerary.
  4. Making reservations for guides, assistants, and/or staff for the scheduled date.

The remaining 60% will be paid in Huaraz after you have checked into your hotel. To begin the organization of your expeditions, please contact us for more information.

  1. National Police Rescue Squadron, based in the city of Yungay (very close to Huascarán mountain). Phone numbers: 043-493292 / 043-493333. They also have 02 helicopters available.
  2. Casa de Guías Rescue Unit, based in the city of Huaraz (Parque Ginebra s/n). The rescue cost must be budgeted beforehand, and if a helicopter is required, it will also be necessary to pay for the service in advance. Website: agmp.pe
